I went to see Lady Gaga at LG Arena in Birmingham last night, with my friend Jules and her 14 year old daughter. We drove there and got there in good time. There was entertainment in the entrance and we queued so Jules daughter could buy a T-Shirt. We had tickets for section 1 row YF, which we assumed was the highest row of the arena. However when we got to section 1 the lady checking tickets took our tickets off us and issued us with new ones for row F, which was 3 rows from the front! Result! Not sure why this happened, but we wern't arguing.
The support band was loud and every song had the F word in the title, and the lead singer didn't appologise to the parents with young children telling them they ought to thank him for introducing them to good F'ing rock and roll... Charming!
We joined in with several mexican waves going around the arena whilst we waited for Lady Gaga.
Lady Gaga was late starting, apparently supposed to be on a 8.30pm, but came on nearer 9. Where we were sat we could see people milling about behind the scenes. There was a big curtain with images projected on it, which we could see on a side screen. After her first song, she launched into Just Dance, and we were up and dancing and singing along. Following was numerous skimpy and elaborate costume changes, stage prop changes, including a huge Angler Fish type Monster. I was particulalry impressed with a white outfit with fairy wings which moved. During the show we were refered to as little monsters and she was our Mama Monster. And we all had to show her our Paws. LOL.
During the show, me and Jules were distracted by the amount of people being pulled out of the crowed floor and being wheelchaired away after fainting. I've been to lots of concerts and never seen quite so many people taken away.
The show finished with Bad Romance, when Lady Gaga had reached her Monster Ball which again had us all up and dancing and singing along again. We left the arena and Jule's daughter was very happy, saying it was an amazing show!

Another Crafty Morning!
I decided to make the shopping bag I was going to make the other day. I may give this one to Mother In Law too, as she was really pleased with the Buttercup Bag! It will make a nice matching set!

A Craft Morning
At last I've had a chance to sit down and make something. I wanted to make a bag, and was just going to make a simple tote/shopping bag. However, it was mother in laws birthday yesterday (yes I forgot!), so I thought I'd make her the Buttercup Bag, which has been discussed and made by some of the ladies on the sewing thread on moneysavingexpert.com. Pattern courtesy of Made By Rae, http://www.made-by-rae.com/2009/02/free-buttercup-bag-sewing-pattern.html I forgot to take photos initially, but took a couple when I was part way through.
Completely finished.
Made from some fabric I bought at Dunelm Mill, it was an end of roll piece for £1.99. I lined it with some cream satin fabric which was left over from my wedding dress. And the 2 buttons are from a huge tin of buttons my sister in law gave me.
Lining halves made with magnetic clasp and pocket sewn in place. Main fabric pinned ready to sew.
Finished bag waiting for handle. Completely finished.

Glorious Weather and a Wind Farm!
What a lovely weekend. I must thank my neighbour for hosting a BBQ yesterday in his backgarden. We lounged around in the shade of large umbrellas, ate bbq'd burgers and sausages, and drank lager and cider! Wonderful..
On the way home from work today, I caught sight of a Wind Farm that has been built near our town. I was taken by surprise, I've never seen it before (not sure how long its been there). However, what a magnificent sight! Huge white windmills with there gi-normous sails standing majestically in the middle of farm land against the green of the fields and the blue of the sky. I've always read what an eyesore these windmills are. It maybe that the sun has gone to my head, but these looked fantastic! I really wanted to stop to get a better look, but couldn't find a good spot! Maybe I'll have a trip out to have a better looksee!

Crafty Day Not!
I was planning to spend the whole day crafting today. However the phone rang this morning, it was my boss wanting to know if I could cover for someone who's son is sick. So instead of making lots of nice things, I've been to work. Still I do have a holiday to pay for, so it was worth going in.

Leggings and A New Top!
I went shopping yesterday (again). I had to go to the bank and post office to pay in money for 2 of my jobs! So I took the opportunity to browse the shops. First stop was T K Max, I spied some T-Shirts with angel wings printed on the back. There was a choice so I chose 3 and tried them on. 2 were rather see through, so I plumped for the 3rd which has a large sparkly heart with wings. I had wanted a top with wings ever since I went to see Bon Jovi opening the O2 in 2008. Jon Bon Jovi came on stage in a black shirt with gold wings embroidered in gold on the back. So this T Shirt is my tribute to that fabulous night. I might just wear it when I go to see Bon Jovi at the O2 in June!
Next I decided to have a look in New Look, I heard they do long length leggings (my legs need a 32" inside measurement). I found 3 pairs and headed to the changing rooms. I plumped for an extra stretchy pair in the Jeans style (so Jeggings then!). I did think I was too old for leggings, but my freind (Jules) keeps pointing out older people who are wearing them and saying "if she can wear them, you can!" So now I have some.

Shopping For Craft Fabric (My first crafty post!)
I had a trip out today to a local town specifically to visit the Fabric Shop there. Its a great shop which although it has a small shop front, its a bit like the tardis, its huge inside. It sells everything from Craft and dress material to Furnishing and Curtain Fabrics as well as all the haberdashery items you could every want...
This last set of fabrics was from a bargin bin of fabric packs for 50p each. I bought one to see what was in it. The polka dot fabric is double layered held together with the spots. The red is a sparkly organza. The brown is linen type and the white is a piece of netting.
I managed to find just what I wanted...
This fabric bought off the roll is for a specific project I have in mind, more of which I will reveal later...

Lots to be getting on with I think!

A busy, but enjoyable weekend!
My weekend started on Friday evening with Tea at my mum and dads. We (me, hubby and kids) always go to Mum and Dads for tea on a Friday and we had Sausages in Rolls, Salad and Spicey Wedges! Rounded off with a Nice cup of coffee and a Chocolate biscuit.
In the evening me and Jules went to a Karaoke Night at a local pub. Got a couple of songs in, Don't Marry Her, Have Me - Beautiful South and I Said Never Again - Rachel Stevens. There were some really good singers in, but I managed to hold my own... just.
Saturday, had to work in the morning, but it was worthwhile! My brother phoned to say he was visiting with his Son and staying over, so spent Saturday afternoon tidying and shopping for tea - Fahitas. Saturday night we all (Hubby, Brother and friends) went down the local pub for the evening. They had an Indie covers band on, who would have been good if they had a sound engineer to mix properly for them!
Sunday, had a slight hang over (too much cider!) Hubby cooked breakfast and brother and nephew went home. Spent the afternoon at the allotment, Jules came down for a while too (we share the allotment).
Not a bad weekend all in all, Oh and we booked our summer holiday... A week in a hotel, bed, breakfast and evening meal in Blackpool!

My Weekly Excercise Class
I been to my weekly excercise class tonight, which is actually Line Dancing Lessons. I decided I was too old for Aerobics or Step classes, and my friend Jules and I decided Line Dancing might be a good crack and a bit of excersie!
We have been going since the beginning of the year and are in the beginners class. We're doing quite well and can now do quite a few easy dances without having to be shown first, the lady that takes the class just puts the music on and off we go.
There have been a few funny moments where we all go wrong, usually we're following someone at the front, they do the wrong steps and we copy, it has a bit of a domino effect as the wrong steps get repeated by the rows behind followed by giggles and laughter by everyone. Mind you I don't need to copy someone elses wrong steps, I'm quite capable of going wrong all by myself.
There are Line Dancing Disco's and Dances nearly every weekend, we haven't been yet, but we were told last week by someone we know in the intermediate class that we're probably not good enough yet... ! Charming! however me-thinks some people may take it all a bit too seriously and may take a dim view at our attempts to get it right and falling around laughing when we go wrong! I think we need a little look-see at some point in the near future to find out! (Not sure if we need cowboy boots and hats though!). Watch this space LOL!

What! no internet..?
Slightly peturbed today. My internet connection had been down since 6 o'clock last night, and I didn't know what to do with myself. I feel like a part of my life is missing. Isn't funny how we just can't live with it constantly there and have to keep checking to see if its back... Any how, and very nice man at my internet providers technical help talked me through re-setting my router and now its back.

Day 2 A Quick Moan!
Day 2 of my blog and I'm moaning already. I have been to Hobbycraft this morning to buy some felt and toy stuffing. I have checked my receipt and they have overcharged me AGAIN! The felt was 8.99 per meter and they charged £9.49 and I also picked up a £1.49 ball of wool and was charged £1.59... I know its only a matter of pence. But this seems to be a regular occurance! Note to oneself! must remember to double check the receipt before I leave the shop! :(

Well! Is it just me...? This is my first post, well second actually, I just managed to delete the first! As I was saying, I often have thoughts going through my mind, but no one to say them to... well not anyone who'll understand. So I can now tell my laptop PC, and my laptop can tell anyone who cares to read it... So hello and welcome.
