A Crayon Roll At Long Last!

For a long time now, I have been wanting to make a Crayon Roll. I had a quick peek yesterday at the Sewing Thread on MSE and there was another photo of one someone had made... that was it... I picked out some material from my huge pile and got to work... I had to go to Mr T's for something so picked up some crayons whilst there and voila... my first crayon roll... very quick and easy to make as everyone says in there posts and blogs... I followed the tutorial on this Blog which was nice and clear.

I just may make a few more of these for my next craft stall...

A Fete and A Few More Makes

Sorry, I haven't posted for ages, but I have made loads... I had a craft stall at a school fete the other week and sold a few bits and pieces, some items were old stock I had made before, but I had spent 2 weeks making stuff for this fete. I think I thought it was going to be good. The new items I made were some larger hanging hearts. I main aim is to make things from fabric I already have, but I went to John Lewis to see if I could get some of the white fabric I use for my hanging Tooth Fairy Pillows! I found some in the remnant bin and whilst rummaging I found some lovely green gingham style fabric and was immediately inspired to make the larger hearts in it.

organised by the MSE ladies.

I had also made 2 large hearts, one in red gingham with an applique pink flower on it and a green striped one with a small red heart appliqued on it, both of these sold at the fete, so I haven't got a picture. I will probably make some more though and will make sure I take a picture.

I made some more of the felt birdies too...

Summer is over, but I did make some things...

Its about time I posted again. I kept meaning to, but with the children on school holidays, demand for my PC was at an all time high. Plus with days out and things to do I just didn't get 5 minutes to post.

I did, however, keep up with the blogs I subscribe too and one of them included a Six Pocket Pouch of which I have now made two. The blog/Tutorial is here

I need to buy some nice matching ribbon to thread through, I have just used what I had in my stash for now.

I was very pleased last bank holiday Monday to get an email from Misi, telling me I had an order for two of my Hanging Tooth Fairy Cushions... I had sold the ones made previously, so spent last Tuesday making some more.

The finshed articles, 2 of which were immediately wrapped and posted to my buyer!

Backgrounds

If you've been following my blog, you may have noticed my backgrounds either not being there or changing. This is because I couldn't see my background, so I changed it, but then I couldn't see that one, so I have now changed to a different supplier! (so to speak!).

I may change it again shortly. But this will do for now... if you can see it?

A week in not so sunny Blackpool

We are back from our week away in Blackpool. We went with Jules and her family and my Brother and his family, 12 of us in all.

The weather wasn't brilliant, but we didn't get caught in any major downpours. We stayed in a hotel with Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meal, which was great as there was no shopping, cooking or washing up. It was a bit of a pain having to get up for breakfast, but we could go down as late as 9.30am. We had travelled up to Blackpool on the train and brought tram/bus passes so we spent the week travelling up and down the promade on the varying trams. We even went as far as Fleetwood just because we could (end of the tramline) and all the way to the pleasure beach the other way. (The very ends of the line were being dug up in preparation for the new supertrams in 2012).

A trip to the Amusements was a must!

We went to the Pleasure Beach during our stay, it was a lovely day out. I went on one of the rollercoasters, but not the Big One. I loved the horsey ride, I think it was the Steeple Chase. My son, nephews and Jules daughter all went on the Ice Blast ride, the one that shoots straight up and then down again. We had to laugh at the photo from the ride, my son and his cousin were holding hands as they were scared! Top tip for visiting the Pleasure Beach... Monday's are a quiet day!

We also visited the Tower, highlight was the Tower Circus, a full two hours of entertainment. We also sat in the Tower ball room, which is lovely inside. No-one would dance with me though.

Stanley Park was another day out, boating lake, golf and model village.

In the evenings we went to Uncle Tom's Cabin, although there was entertainment in the hotel, theres only so much kids entertainer, bingo and crooner, one can take in a week. Highlights at Uncle Toms Cabin were Karaoke, Miss Blackpool heat and final night there was a Billy Idol Tribute which was a great evening rounding the week off nicely.


We travelled home again on the train, the others by car! I think we needed to go home to rest!

The Warriors Dance Festival

Just a quick post. Hubby and I went to the Warriors Dance Festival at the National Bowl in Milton Keynes last Saturday. We had a lovely day out sitting on the hill watching the various bands and festival goers moshing and having bottle fights (so thats what they do at Festivals!). If you look on You Tube there are some videos from people in the thick of it.

I mainly wanted to see Pendulum, who were great! However people were constantly on the move and I got a bit annoyed with people just pushing past me to go somewhere, and one family stopped right in front of me with a 2 year old who was obviously fed up and playing up!

The top of the bill was The Prodigy who's stage set was spectacular, flashing lights and lasers, the music was loud and the now packed bowl was jumping .

We actually left whilst The Prodigy was playing their last song. I wouldn't normally leave prior to the very end, however I really don't care for Drum and Bass Dance Music... (I'm not sure that is the right name for it) or so I have discovered! LOL and the need for a wee and something to eat was far more appealing at that moment. I am definately a rock chic... (but I knew that already!)

Teachers Gifts

Its my daughters last day at Junior school today. They had their leavers prom last night.

I let her have a rummage in my bag of crafty makes to find a gift for her teacher and she chose...

The orange with green thread birdie. She wrote a nice thank you note and put it in the pocket.

The hanging cupcake.

And my applique zip top pouch.

We placed all the items into a gift bag, and with a note from me to say she can let her friends write on her school t-shirt, she left for her last day!
