I'd just like to wish you all a very happy Easter, with a couple of pictures of my Easter Bunny Tree. I've always wanted an Easter Egg Tree, however when I found these Bunnies in Aldi's last week I'd had a plan!
I found the twigs and spray painted them silver. Attached coloured wool to the chocolate bunny's. Put the twigs into a glass jar with some glass nuggets to support them and then hung the bunnies. Finished off with a simple message. I did start to add ribbon etc., but decided less is more...
I don't do a lot of dress making any more, however my friend Julie asked me if I would make a simple skirt for her daughter Amy. They had trawled the shops to find one like her older sister has, but couldn't find any. So we made a trip down to the fabric shop, Amy chose the material and we selected the widest elastic for the waist.
It didn't take long to make. A couple of hours maybe!
Amy was very pleased with her skirt and wore it to school the next day!
Just a quickie. Hobbycraft are having a 20% off evening (between 5pm and 8pm) this coming Thursday 31st March 2011. They said I can share the voucher, so here it is.
Another pattern found via fellow blogger Kandi Pandi. She very kindly included the pattern on her blog.
I'm not a knitter as such, I just know some basics. But, I thought it looked fairly easy, although the bit in the pattern which gives it the fluted look had me slightly worried, and then relieved when it turned out fine! (Kandi's instructions were spot on).
When I was looking for a button to sew into the middle this was the first one I found. I thought it was perfect!
I'm pleased with the outcome, perhaps its a little bigger, bulkier that I thought it should be. Not sure if I will make anymore... I may do!
Whilst Blog hopping the other day, thanks to Nuttybabe I came across this lovely Scottie Dog Pattern. I immediately book marked it for a future make. However, I couldn't wait and I cut out the pattern and hand stitched it.
I just had enough stuffing to fill it and finished it off with a gingham bow.
I had put small bead eyes on him, but decided to change them for the googly eyes.
Although I have mentioned in my profile that I host Karaoke, I haven't blogged about it. So as I have just done 3 nights of very successful karaoke for a Corporate Client and they have posted a video on Youtube, I thought you might like to see what I do... There isn't actually much footage of me, just a couple of glimses of me on the right hand side of the stage lining up the next track, twidling knobs for sound control etc.,
This is a gig we have done for 3 years now at the clients evening entertainment for their Trade Icebike Show. There isn't any footage yet! of the last night, where we had to hang on to the equipment when the whole room (which is a temporary structure) was bouncing up and down whilst everyone was jumping up and down to the head banging part of Bohemian Rhapsody. Amazingly the karaoke disc didn't skip at all!
As usual, we thoroughly enjoyed doing these shows, they always have a really (fuelled by alcohol) up for it crowd in!
Its been a short while since I last blogged. I've been wanting to blog, but alas with starting the new job, and things getting in the way I haven't made anything to blog about. However, today I decided to transfer some photo's and video off of my mobile phone and I came across a couple of photos of my hand made goodies on a craft stall we did last year!
We is my neighbour who does Jewellery and me! Since starting to sell my hand sewn goodies, my side of the craft stall has been far more successful, in the past I have sold home made candles, cookies, soaps and bath bombs all with little success.
I don't know why I didn't make sewn items before, and it was only when I started reading the sewing thread on MoneySavingExpert.com that I was inspired to go back to sewing (I used to make clothes and curtains, years ago!). Now I want to make over the look of the stall, perhaps to a pale blue and cream shabby chic type look.... but I must find the time to do some more sewing and make things to go on the stall. I am thinking Sunday afternoons.... maybe!
